OHRC Youth Forum Successfully Hosts Youth Empowerment Session – I, 2026
February 28, 2026 – The OHRC Youth Forum organized Youth Empowerment Session – I, 2026, a well-coordinated and inspiring program aimed at strengthening youth leadership, promoting cultural awareness, and encouraging meaningful community engagement. The event brought together former and current OHRC leaders, TEACHERS from refugee camps, community members, and youth participants.
The program began with seat taking followed by Swasti Bachan (Invocation Prayer). The formal welcome address was delivered by Mr. Prem Khanal, current President of OHRC, who warmly greeted all invited guests and participants.
The session featured a series of powerful speeches delivered by youth participants, who confidently expressed their perspectives on community development, mental health awareness, religion and cultural identity, social responsibility, harmful practices rooted in false beliefs, and the negative impact of the caste system on community harmony.

Each speaker demonstrated clarity, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility toward community advancement. Their speeches reflected awareness of social challenges and a commitment to positive transformation.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Tula Ram Neopaney, former President of OHRC, and Dr.Bhuwan Gautam who emphasized the importance of youth understanding their language, culture, and heritage. He praised the progress of the younger generation and encouraged them to continue contributing to the community through education and leadership.
YP Acharya, former President of OHRC; the Headmaster of Goldhap Camp; Mr. Rohit Dahal, a dedicated board member recognized for his tireless service to the community; and Mr. CM Dahal, a renowned teacher from Pathari Camp were also present . Their presence reflected strong intergenerational unity and support for youth initiatives.
A special highlight of the program was the recognition and honoring of teachers who served selflessly in refugee camps during challenging times. Educators from Goldhap Camp, Timai (Temai) Camp, Beldangi (all three camps), Pathari Camp, and Khudunabari Camp were present and formally honored for their sacrifice and dedication. In addition, Nepali language class teachers who continue to serve at OHRC through Saturday classes were also recognized for their ongoing contribution to cultural and educational preservation.
The program included musical performances, adding vibrancy to the event. The session was skillfully anchored and coordinated by CM Niroula, who motivated participants and ensured the smooth flow of the program.
At the conclusion of the session, a heartfelt poem was delivered by Prem Khanal, bringing the event to an inspiring close. The atmosphere throughout the program was energetic and encouraging, with all youth participants appearing motivated and empowered.
The program concluded with a shared lunch, fostering interaction, appreciation, and strengthened community bonds.
The Youth Empowerment Session – I, 2026 stands as a meaningful initiative by the OHRC Youth Forum, reinforcing the importance of youth leadership, cultural preservation, and collective responsibility within the community.
