Dhaka, Bangladesh — Prominent Bangladeshi parliamentary candidate Tasnim Zara has been defeated in the recent general elections, finishing in third place despite her massive popularity on social media. Zara, who has approximately 7.4 million followers on Facebook, was widely recognized as one of the most visible and influential candidates during the election campaign.
Her strong online presence had generated significant public attention and expectations, especially among younger voters and social media users. However, the election results demonstrated that online popularity did not fully translate into electoral victory, as she was unable to secure enough votes to finish among the top two candidates in her constituency.
Political analysts say the outcome reflects the complex nature of electoral politics, where grassroots organization, party strength, and voter outreach on the ground remain crucial factors. Despite the loss, Tasnim Zara’s performance and popularity indicate her continued influence in Bangladesh’s political landscape.

सुकुम्बासी बस्तीमाथि राज्यले दमन गरेको आरोप लगाउँदै GENZ CENTRE ले माइतीघर मण्डलामा विरोध प्रदर्शन गरेको छ। प्रदर्शनकारीहरूले बस्ती हटाउने कार्य रोक्न र प्रभावितहरूका लागि मानवीय तथा दीर्घकालीन पुनर्स्थापनाको माग गरेका छन्।
सत्तारूढ राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टी (रास्वपा) का सांसद मनिष खनालले काठमाडौंको बल्खु किनारामा भएको सुकुम्बासी बस्ती व्यवस्थापनका क्रममा भएको घटनाप्रति गहिरो दुःख व्यक्त गरेका छन्। नवलपुर–२ बाट निर्वाचित सांसद खनालले शुक्रबार राति सामाजिक सञ्जालमार्फत आफ्नो धारणा सार्वजनिक गर्दै राज्यका लागि प्रत्येक नागरिकको जीवन र आत्मसम्मान सर्वोच्च विषय भएको उल्लेख गरेका छन्। उनले “विस्थापन होइन, सुरक्षित व्यवस्थापन” को मान्यतालाई प्राथमिकता दिनुपर्ने बताउँदै बल्खु घटनालाई दुःखद भनेका छन्। घटनाका क्रममा ६१ वर्षीय इन्द्रबहादुर राई मृत अवस्थामा फेला परेका थिए। प्रहरीका अनुसार उनी बागमती नदीले बगाएर ल्याएको अवस्थामा फेला परेका हुन्। सांसद खनालले बस्ती व्यवस्थापनका क्रममा बालबालिकाको शिक्षा, नागरिकको स्वास्थ्य र परिवारको मानसिक अवस्थाप्रति थप संवेदनशील हुनुपर्ने आवश्यकता औँल्याएका छन्। उनले सरकारलाई सुरक्षित बसोबासको लक्ष्यलाई व्यवहारमा उतार्दा “न्याय मात्र होइन, न्याय भएको अनुभूति पनि हुनुपर्छ” भन्ने मान्यतालाई मजबुत बनाउन आग्रह गरेका छन्। खनालले मृतकप्रति श्रद्धाञ्जलि अर्पण गर्दै शोकसन्तप्त परिवारप्रति गहिरो समवेदना पनि व्यक्त गरेका छन्।
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today presented the Annual Audit Report (AAR) 2024–2025 to Hon’ble Members of Parliament at the Raven Hall of the National Council. The report was submitted by the Royal Audit Authority, highlighting key audit findings, recurring issues across government agencies, and recommendations to strengthen public financial management and accountability. As part of the review process, the PAC also held consultation meetings with the Civil Society Organization Authority (CSOA), the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA), and the Bhutan Standards Bureau (BSB) to gather inputs and enhance institutional coordination in addressing audit observations.
